Use a note from this site

1. Open a note in the library and tap Copy note.
2. In the PinyinNotes app, create a new note and paste.
3. Lines written as 学习 = to study become flashcards.

You do not need an account to copy. The app keeps what you paste on your device.

Write a note other people can use

Request an account to contribute. An admin reads the request and sends you a link so you can choose a password. Each note still stays private until an admin publishes it, or sends it back with what to fix.

• Choose the meaning language. English means 你好 = hello. Indonesian means 你好 = halo. Every other language works the same way: the meaning is written in that language.
• One card per line. Separate the Chinese and the meaning with = or : or ：.
• Either side can be the meaning. The app treats the Chinese side as the front of the card.
• A line with no delimiter stays in the note and does not become a card.
• Copying includes the title, the summary, and the note text. The title and summary stay as text and do not become cards.

Typing English in the app

On the Chinese keyboard, press the 确认 key — where Enter sits on an English keyboard — to insert the letters you typed as plain text. The space bar would turn those letters into characters instead. There is also an = key on the bar above the keyboard for the flashcard delimiter.

Pinyin, review, and Premium

The app adds Pinyin from the characters you paste. That automatic reading can be wrong for characters with more than one pronunciation. The colored Pinyin on this website is only a preview.

Review in the app brings cards back around the time you are about to forget them. A daily reminder can be turned on in the app's Settings. Audio pronunciation, unlimited flashcards, and spaced review are part of Premium, which is purchased in the App Store or Google Play. This website does not sell or unlock Premium.

Deleted notes in the app

Notes you delete in the app stay in Settings, Recently Deleted, for 30 days. Removing a note on this website does not change anything already pasted into the app.
